The bedroom is not only sleeping. It also serves as a retreat and dressing room. In order to create a cozy atmosphere here, a sophisticated lighting concept must be produced. The different lamps should not only spread a warm light, but also be suitable for their individual purpose.

General lighting of the bedroom

To ensure that every spouse in a double bed can maintain his or her own sleep rhythm undisturbed, the illuminant for the particular lighting should be chosen so that it illuminates only one side of the bed, but the other remains largely in the dark. This is ensured firstly by bulbs with a comparatively weak power of at most 40 watts, and secondly by a lamp model that has a swiveling arm and a revolving screen. This allows the light cone to be targeted. You can choose between the bright, focusable reading light and the shade lamp. Its shade directs the light down and up and mutes it. For this reason, it looks softer than that of the reading light, but also provides less brightness.

Lighting concept for the wardrobe

If you do not want to go blindly into the closet in the morning to roll your outfit together for the day, but prefer to choose your clothes, you need a well-lit wardrobe. For this purpose, ceiling luminaires or ceiling luminaires up to 80 centimeters in front of the wardrobe can be mounted and aligned, throwing their shielded light directly into the cabinet. Individually aligned light heads of a lighting system also fulfill this purpose. In contrast, spots that are directly installed in the cabinet are ideal. However, they should have a color rendering index of 100, otherwise the natural color rendering quality will be compromised.

Indirect lighting for the mirror

To check whether the selected garments harmonize with each other, it is worth taking a look in the mirror. This should also be lit, but not with direct lighting, as the reflective surface throws the light back and create unwanted shadows. For this reason, it is advisable to mount two low-glare lamps next to the mirror and one above the mirror and aim it at the viewer. All lamps should also emit a soft light.
